Data Freshness and Sources

Freshness labels

Sahulat Capital distinguishes live, cached, snapshot and derived information. “Live” describes the source path and expected update behavior; it is not a warranty that an upstream provider is complete, uninterrupted or free of delay. Cached data preserves a recent successful response for a stated period. A snapshot records values as of a specific date. Derived information is calculated from identified inputs.

These labels prevent a stale fallback from silently appearing current. When a primary source is unavailable, the interface should show the last verified date or state that current data is unavailable. A generated timestamp alone does not prove that the underlying source was refreshed.

Source hierarchy

Primary sources are used for claims about official rates, rules, index composition and issuer reporting. National Savings terms are checked against the Central Directorate of National Savings. Monetary and exchange-rate assumptions use State Bank of Pakistan material where applicable. Listed-company identity and index composition use official PSX notices, while company analysis requires issuer reports and disclosures.

Secondary sources may explain context or provide an additional check. They are not presented as the authority for a claim when an official document exists. Each reviewed financial page records its source list and the date those sources were checked.

Update schedules

The appropriate review frequency depends on the information. Administered profit rates and product rules should be checked after an announced change and on a regular operational schedule. Company research should be revisited after material issuer reporting, governance events or index recomposition. Evergreen educational guides receive at least an annual substantive review and earlier review when laws, taxes or product structures change.

Search demand does not justify changing a date when content has not been reviewed. A page’s updated date reflects a meaningful editorial or source revision. Minor style edits do not automatically reset it.

Rates, forecasts and calculations

A current rate must identify the provider, effective date and payout convention. Derived real returns disclose the inflation and deduction assumptions used. Forecasts identify their data window and limitations and remain clearly separate from observed results. When input dates differ, the page either aligns them or explains the mismatch.

Public stock research does not reproduce PSX quote prices, volumes, index levels, bid/ask values or other quote-feed-derived fields until written data rights permit public display. That restriction does not authorize stale substitutes. The public page instead focuses on stable identity, research methodology and issuer-primary disclosures.

Failure and fallback behavior

An upstream failure should degrade honestly. If no verified current value is available, the page says so. It must not replace a failed official source with an undated value and label it current. Operational logs may retain diagnostic details, while public messages avoid exposing secrets or internal infrastructure.

Repeated source failures trigger investigation and may require temporarily withdrawing a page when freshness is essential to its claims. An unfinished draft is never presented to readers as completed research merely because its web address works.

Corrections versus updates

A source changing after publication is handled as a freshness update. A statement that was unsupported or wrong at publication is handled through the corrections policy. Material corrections include an explanatory note. Both processes update visible dates honestly and keep structured data synchronized with the page.

Reader responsibility

Even recently checked information can change before a reader acts. Users should confirm current product terms and legal or tax treatment with the relevant primary source and appropriately authorized professional. Sahulat Capital’s freshness labels improve transparency; they do not guarantee future availability or accuracy.
